Food is good, prices are cheap, service could improve

Order prime rib rare came back well done. Waitress made a comment when I ordered how it displeased her I ordered it rare

EXCELLENT FOOD & SERVICE! Server was very prompt, friendly and courteous! Price's you can't beat! Breakfast platter, buffalo wings and a French dip, all delicious!

From what I understand Barley's is an Austin classic. A large menu of comfort foods for all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I would say that the food is decent, and the prices are incredible. The restaurant itself is very outdated, but I feel that it makes Barley's that much more special. The service I experienced was mediocre. My apple juice had something floating in it however, they did comp it from my check. I recommend to anyone looking for a quick, cheap bite to eat.

They usually have good food, Went in there and there was no waiter/waitress in the front. Waited over a half hour and no one came to check on the front so we had left.

Here on vacation for 3 days. Ate here every morning for breakfast!Nice staff and Owner wonderful job! Delicious Food!

Amazing place I love the food, and the staff are friendly people. There was so much food I had another meal for later. Im bringing all my family here.

I was hungry for liver and onions. Liver and onions was fantastic . The knife glided through the meat like butter taste was fantastic, I would go the next day.

I had the Western Omelet, was definitely filling and tasty too.

I don't hate that place I take that place has excellent excellent food and the service is fantastic the people there are just awesome they're very wonderful

I go to Barley's restaurant every Sunday morning! I always have great food! I always have great service! The server staff there are really really nice!

Great place to eat. We were in town for a hockey camp and found it. The chicken alfredo was amazing. Our waitress was super nice.

I meet my grandparents and Aunt here for "brunch" about a week ago. We all loved our food. The pancakes are good sized and delicious. The skillet my grandma had was also very good as well. It seemed like the people kept coming in waves be we didn't have to wait to get a table on a Sunday morning after church. That being said, it was still busy most of the time we were there. The service was great and we didn't have to wait too long for our food.

Server was on top of it, getting food out to each of us as the cook had it done and kept on removing dishes we where done with. Bathroom clean but to cold to sit on toilet. Food was okay for the price depending on what was ordered. They 2 servers both seemed happy and enjoying the job.

If I could give negative stars i would... will never eat there again, and will tell the world not to!!!! It took 45 min to get appetizers, food was wrong and the"waitress" got snippy when asked to fix our order

This is the second time my husband and I have eaten here. The sevice, and food were great. Brought in a timely manner. I would like to see a deep clean done, dining area and especially the womens bathroom, but, it was not horrible.

What a wonderful dinner I had with my date. The food was amazing and the service was amazing. Im going back with my family. This is the only reason I have to come to Austin.

99%of the food coming out of the kitchen is homemade. Which means that the mashed potatoes are not instant.

We stopped here after the Spam Museum. It was excellent!! The fries are the best I've had! There was 4 of us and we all ordered something different and we where all very pleased. If I get near there again I'll definitely stop here again!

Great food but 7.99 for a small bowl of mac and cheese on the kids menu is what they call it only it wasn't a meal came with NOTHING not a drink veg or fruit!! That place has gone down hill!

Lunch with Mom. Got to love a place with a 9.95 lunch steak and SPAM and eggs on the specials.This is an old school restaurant, family friendly, with a mix of tables and booths and tons of rack space for coats.The menu was surprisingly dense- plenty of variety in meats and all day breakfasts, and 3 soups to choose from.Her liver and onions was apparently excellent, the liver had never been frozen.The potatoes and gravy were surprisingly not salty, which I approve of.I had a Barley burger (Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion) and beef and barley soup.The soup was rich and not salty, the burger was very well done, overall a decent meal.

The food was great.You get so much, have enough for another meal. Thank You Barleys for still being open in this horrible time

Service was amazing, but the waffle I had was sour dough, and NOT listed that way. My sister's breakfast was awesome.

Not the busiest restaurant, really nice and friendly service. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Had the corned beef hash and eggs was cooked awesomely. Good home style restaurant.

The food is very good.... especially the eggs Benedict and breakfast potatoes. The coffee is smooth and tasty and our waitress, Cheryl, was extremely attentive and personable. She made sure we had everything we needed and more! I'm looking forward to coming back when I'm in Austin again.

Disgusting food! Horrible. Couldn't get more than two bites down. Will NEVER go back. Sevice was good, food was cheap but you get what you pay for.

The food was amazing and will definitely be back! Our only complaint is that there needs to be more than one waitress working. The only one working couldn't keep up with all the tables and we had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks. I felt really bad for her because she looked exhausted.
